Sheffield Utd 2-0 Villa. Dec 14th.

Another weekend, another defeat, and another performance that suggests the manager knows not what he’s doing. Teams don’t only out battle us but out-wit us too. When it’s clear that our tactics are awry our manager just folds his arms and tells the players to get on with it. It ain’t good.

It’s one of the better away games this one, a traditional ground with passionate supporters, a bit of a bear pit and plenty of room in the away end for a merry throng. It’s set up for a good day out if your players turn up for you, but they didn’t, again, and we lost 2-0. Grealish smacked the bar with a penalty when we were already two down but you got the feeling we’d not have the gumption to equalise even if that gift had have been taken. These dismal defeats are becoming an unpleasant habit, I’m finding them rather tiresome.
